POLICIES & TERMS

By scheduling services with Deborah Schwing, you are stating that you understand and agree to the following policies:

Purpose & Use of Services: Although many people find these services to be helpful "alternative" services are not intended to replace formal and contracted medical, mental health or other professional services from an appropriately licensed provider; nor are they intended to treat, diagnose, or cure any medical or psychological illness or disease.

Psychotherapy Verses Alternative Services: Deborah Schwing is a California Licensed Psychotherapist (CA MFT #39839) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #660). Psychotherapy is a specific service that requires written consent for treatment that is mutually agreed upon between client and psychotherapist through a formalized treatment contract.

Crisis Intervention: Deborah does not provide crisis intervention services. If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency or need to speak with someone immediately, please Call 911, or go to your local emergency room.

Policy of no liability: Deborah Schwing maintains a No Liability Policy for all services. The consumer (client) is solely responsible for his/her decisions, interpretations drawn from services, and all consequences resulting directly or indirectly from them.

Confidentiality: The content of your sessions will be treated confidentially with a few exceptions. These include: Perceived risk of harm to self or others, failure to make proper and timely payments, and efforts to correct misrepresentation of Deborah’s services.

Payment for Sessions: Full payment is required at time of session.

Refunds: Refunds are not available for any of Deborah’s services. Please be sure that your schedule works and that you're ready for a session before submitting a payment.

Rescheduling:  In the event that you need to reschedule a session, you must provide at least 48 hours advance notice with a response from Deborah indicating that she received your message. In such a case, Deborah will gladly reschedule at a mutually convenient time. If you do not follow this protocol, your session will count as a "No show" and you will not be eligible to use that payment for a future session. If you suspect that you may need to cancel or miss your session, please inform Deborah immediately. To avoid any mishaps with wrong numbers, muffled voice mail, or lost emails, you must receive a phone call, email or text from Deborah verifying that she received your cancelation message in order to avoid losing your payment or being billed for a missed/cancelled session.

Tardiness: If you are running late for your session, Deborah will reserve it for up to 15 minutes. However, the amount of time that you are late will be deducted from your session. For example, if you schedule a 30 minute session and you arrive 10 minutes late, you'll have 20 minutes remaining for your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session will count as a "No Show" (missed appointment without advance notice). In such a case, your session will be cancelled and you will not be eligible for a refund or credit of any kind. If Deborah causes the session to start late, she will offer to make up the lost time on that day or if necessary, on a later date. If she is running less than 15 minutes late, she will not reschedule your entire session for a different day/time but will offer to make up the lost time in some capacity at no additional charge to you. If Deborah is running less than 15 minutes late and you decide to cancel your appointment, your session will count as a "No Show" and you will be responsible for paying for it.  Although Deborah makes every effort to begin sessions promptly, please be patient if she is running a few minutes behind.

Additional Payment Info: A reasonable additional fee (determined by the banks involved) will be charged for any returned checks. Major Credit & Debit cards are accepted directly (on website) via PayPal. Deborah does not take credit card information over the phone. This is for your protection.

Right to Refuse Services: Based on her professional discretion, Deborah Schwing maintains the right to refuse services to any person. In some cases Deborah may refer you to another professional if at any point she determines that she is not able to meet your specific needs.

These policies are subject to change without notice. Your questions are always welcomed and encouraged.

If you've read and understand all of these policies and are ready to begin your work with Deborah, please email to schedule an appointment.
